A Very Special DeSoto Parade

The annual DeSoto Parade, one of the largest and oldest parades in Southwest Florida, was once again, a huge success! More than 200,000 people lined the streets of our home to watch the illuminated floats and to check out the new Hernando DeSoto, Captain of the Crewe, and the newly crowned Queen and Princess. Dive Into Reading volunteer registration is officially open and we need YOUR help! This year, we have opened up our program to rising 1st graders as well as rising 2nd and 3rd graders. We are expecting approximately 450 children! More kiddos mean more volunteers! 6th Annual Tidewell Day

Our 6th annual Tidewell Day was a huge success, thanks to YOU! Tidewell Hospice is one of the largest not-for-profit hospices in the United States. They serve more than 1,000 patients daily in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte and DeSoto counties. Tidewell offers home-based comfort care to everyone, regardless of ability to pay, involving the support of physicians, registered nurses, social workers, certified nursing assistants, chaplains and volunteers. 5th Annual River Regatta

The 5th annual River Regatta returns on February 9th and our AMOB Fam is so excited to be a part of this event! Musical entertainment, family-fun interactive activities and two different classes of speed boating will take place throughout the day…OH, and we will be on the North side of the river selling our mouth-watering Fried Pollock Fish and Fried Gulf Shrimp! October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and our Anna Maria Oyster Bar family truly showed their support! All month long, AMOB staff sold pink margaritas and t-shirts to raise money for our Making Strides Against Breast Cancer team and WeCare Manatee breast health services. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, is a fun walk to raise awareness and funds to save lives from breast cancer.
