New Book Nooks at all four locations!

We are SO very excited about our new collaboration with the Early Learning Coalition of Manatee County & Suncoast Campaign for Grade-Level Reading! We love supporting early literacy for children, so we are happy to welcome “Book Nooks” at all four Anna Maria Oyster Bars. We invite kids to visit the Book Nook and choose a book to read while dining with us. While you’re spending family time at the table, we invite you to join in on the fun with your little one! Help them Dive into Reading by helping them read, or discussing the adventures inside their new

AMOB’s trip to Washington, D.C.

Amanda and I were so thrilled to share the honor of visiting Washington, DC to accept the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s Restaurant Neighbor Award with some of our AMOB family members. Joining us were two of our Ellenton team members, Chris Whittaker and Michael Madden, both of whom went above and beyond to help facilitate the first-ever Dive Into Reading program at our Ellenton location in June 2017.   My Dad, Lynn Sr., was also able to join us, which was great although we missed my Mom (who wasn’t feeling well and opted to stay home….really we think

John’s visit to Hillsborough Community College and USFSM

Education in the community is near and dear to our heart. Whether it be raising money for scholarships, donating, community outreach programs, partnering with the school district for programs… I could go on – you name it, when it comes to education, we’re about it. When I was asked to visit the Hillsborough Community College (HCC) Tampa campus for an appearance at the Hospitality and Tourism Marketing Class, of course I couldn’t say no! We’ve had the pleasure of having Frida Bahja, an associate professor at HCC, as an intern at our Corporate Office this spring. Frida asked me to

In honor of March being National Women’s History Month, we are hosting a clothing drive for the Women’s Resource Center. If you’d like to participate, we ask that you bring in any gently-used women’s clothing garment to any of our locations during March.  What’s your “go to” appetizer? Grandma Georgie’s Chipotle Oysters? Portabella Mushrooms? Peel & Eat Shrimp? Have you tried Will’s newest addition, the Tequila Lime Oysters? Here’s your chance to try a new appetizer for $5 off! A friendly heads up, those coupons are available to use with the purchase of an entrée. The Women’s Resource Center (WRC)

AMOB in the Community – Spring 2018

SCF’s New Library & Learning Center Grand Opening In February, we had the honor of representing the Bradenton Kiwanis at the State College of Florida’s grand opening for their newly constructed library. The Bradenton Kiwanis Foundation donated $10,000 to construct a Young Adult and Children’s Reading Room in SCF’s new Library & Learning Center. According to SCF, “the Bradenton Kiwanis gift will add to the SCF library’s current collection of young adult and children’s literature, which is accessible to anyone with a Manatee or Sarasota County library card”. The new building looks like a phenomenal addition to the SCF campus.

We rolled out something new at the 2018 Forks & Corks Food and Wine Festival!

Forks & Corks Food and Wine Festival is a fabulous event the Sarasota-Manatee Originals organizes each year. Popular enough for tickets to sell out in a matter of minutes, it goes without saying what an attraction it is for the area. The festival brings together over 50 local and diverse food and wine vendors from the Sarasota-Manatee Originals, including Anna Maria Oyster Bar. The Sarasota-Manatee Originals is a group of locally owned restaurants who share a passion for dining excellence and commitment to our community. The festival weekend is filled with tastings and seminars, but the highlight is definitely the

Wreaths Across America – Ceremony

We’re so happy to report that through your generosity for the Wreaths Across America campaign, every gravesite had a holiday wreath laid today.   Thank you for helping us honor & remember our nation’s veterans, and not just during the holiday season, but all year long.  Many in our community came together to support this wonderful mission, including our friend Maverick from the Denis V. Cooper Foundation and 92.1 CTQ. John & Amanda attended a lovely Wreath Laying Ceremony today where hundreds gathered to lay about 12,000 wreaths at Sarasota National Cemetery.  Truly a moving experience for us, and a beautiful site. Can you believe that since 2005, folks stopped by our Landside (869 units), Cortez (1052), and Ellenton (733) Oyster Bars to donate with OneBlood… resulting in 7962 lives saved across our community. Pictured above are (from left) Janie Peticca and Wanda Burke from OneBlood. Veteran’s Day Message from John

At Anna Maria Oyster Bar, it’s really important to us to honor America’s veterans, and not only on special occasions like Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day, but every day. We do our best to express our gratitude for those who served and sacrificed so that we can enjoy the freedoms that we do in this great nation. There’s a beautiful tribute video linked below that a guest emailed me this video the other day and I’m honored to share it with you all. Please take a moment to enjoy. There are a few special things happening in our four locations
