Supporting Education & College Tuition

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, about 16.8 million students were enrolled in a community college or university in 2019. Unfortunately, we continue to hear how expensive and unaffordable college is. Let’s not even get into the topic of student debt. Furthering your education can sometimes seem impossible unless you take out loans, receive scholarships, or have financial assistance. On Sunday, November 3rd, the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee held their yearly “Brunch on the Bay.” This event helps sponsor USF students in achieving their goals, aspirations, and further their education. Throughout September, when you donate a new children’s book appropriate for elementary-age readers, we’ll treat you to $5 off any appetizer! In honor of our birthday, we thought we’d share some history on how each of our AMOB’s was born. 1995 – Anna Maria Oyster Bar is founded on the Anna Maria City Pier. The City Pier will always be home to us, because that’s where we established regulars and made a name for ourselves with our fresh seafood & fun atmosphere. However….we started off real

TRY OUR DRINK OF THE MONTH: SHELL YEAH!

Try our Drink of the Month: Shell Yeah!

In May, we started recycling our oyster shells. Thousands of oysters are consumed at local seafood restaurants in Florida like Anna Maria Oyster Bar. When oyster shells are disposed of, they pile up in our ever-growing landfills. Recycling the shells helps filter the water and create the next generation of harvestable oysters in 3-5 years! But how? Steps to Oyster Recycling: Oysters are consumed at seafood restaurants and placed in the special bins provided by Waste Pro. The shells are picked up every week. The recycled shells are turned into “oyster modules” created for habitat restoration projects. The habitat begins

Shell Yeah We Recycle!

Thousands of oysters are consumed at local seafood restaurants in Florida like Anna Maria Oyster Bar. The shells are usually discarded before piling up in our ever-growing landfills. We’re proud to say we have joined the movement! Waste Pro provided AMOB with oyster shell recycling bins. The oyster shells we recycle will be sent to Perico Preserve where the shells are then placed in a
