October Breast Cancer Fundraiser Total

OCTOBER BREAST CANCER FUNDRAISER TOTAL

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and our Anna Maria Oyster Bar family truly showed their support!

All month long, AMOB staff sold pink margaritas and t-shirts to raise money for our Making Strides Against Breast Cancer team and WeCare Manatee breast health services.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, is a fun walk to raise awareness and funds to save lives from breast cancer. Throughout the event, Making Strides celebrates survivors, honors lost loved-ones and provides post-walk entertainment.

WeCare Manatee serves Manatee County residents through timely health care services, education, and community outreach. They offer a cost effective, private sector solution to the community’s uninsured healthcare needs.

One in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and it’s the second leading cause of cancer death among women. The American Cancer Society predicts that in 2019, more than 19,130 females will be diagnosed with breast cancer in Florida alone.

Throughout the month of October, we proudly sold 861 drinks and 242 shirts which raised $6,434 to split between the two organizations.
