Horne & Moon

HORNE & MOON

We are so happy to share that the fifth annual (SOLD OUT..five in a row) Horne & Moon Social “Finale” was a huge success! According to the Herald-Tribune, party-goers found themselves in a winter wonderland of snow before being treated to champagne, hors d’oeuvres and delicious food from our friends at Pier 22. After filling up on fabulous food and drinks, guests participated in very entertaining live auction hosted by the ever-charismatic John Horne and Stewart Moon, Jr.

This event has been coordinated by our very own John & Amanda Horne, as well as Stewart & Trudy Moon for the last five years… created to raise funds for educational scholarships for adults wanting to go back to school. The Manatee Community Foundation administers scholarships on our behalf to students attending Manatee Technical Institute, State College of Florida and University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee.

While we are a bit sad that this was the last year for our Horne & Moon Scholarship Social… we are also overwhelmingly grateful that, over the years, we have raised more than $500,000 which will fund scholarships for at least the NEXT five years – and hopefully more!  There are also some whispers about a new type of event brought to you by the next generation of Moons and Hornes… stay tuned!
