We’re so happy to report that through your generosity for the Wreaths Across America campaign, every gravesite had a holiday wreath laid today.   Thank you for helping us honor & remember our nation’s veterans, and not just during the holiday season, but all year long.  Many in our community came together to support this wonderful mission, including our friend Maverick from the Denis V. Cooper Foundation and 92.1 CTQ. John & Amanda attended a lovely Wreath Laying Ceremony today where hundreds gathered to lay about 12,000 wreaths at Sarasota National Cemetery.  Truly a moving experience for us, and a beautiful site. Our friends at OneBlood stopped by last week to present us with this very nice award that recognized life-saving efforts by our hardworking staff and generous guests. Can you believe that since 2005, folks stopped by our Landside (869 units), Cortez (1052), and Ellenton (733) Oyster Bars to donate with OneBlood… resulting in 7962 lives saved across our community. Our friends at the Denis V. Cooper Foundation are fundraising for Wreaths Across America, a national campaign to ensure that every headstone at Sarasota National Cemetery has a wreath for the holidays. There are thousands of veterans at SNC who no longer have family or friends to remember them, and the Wreaths Across America ceremony day might be the only time his or her grave site is visited all year. The Horne & Moon Social turned out to be a grand night filled with dancing, sparkling company, and dazzling Moulin Rouge inspired decorations! This event, coordinated by our very own John & Amanda Horne, as well as Stewart, Sr., Trudy, & Stewart, Jr. Moon of Air & Energy, is a fundraising arm of a donor advised fund of the Manatee Community Foundation to support adult educational scholarships to local schools. These schools include higher education institutions. With the help of our attendees, we were able to raise a substantial amount to go towards adult scholarships!
