History of AMOB

1995 Anna Maria Oyster Bar is founded on the Anna Maria City Pier. The City Pier will always be home to us, because that’s where we established regulars and made a name for ourselves with our fresh seafood & fun atmosphere. However, we started off real slow here in the fun category. despite one favorite memory I have of the City Pier, and there are MANY, One night we were incredibly busy… and we had been getting close to breaking records on our busiest day ever. I made the statement if we did over $10,000 in sales in one day

We Want YOU… to eat at AMOB

As we wave adios to our “Headed South” seasonal menu (boy, was that Shrimp Burger delicious!), we are welcoming in our NEW seasonal lunch menu inspired by pure Americana classics – with an Oyster Bar twist, of course. Our new “U.S. of A.M.O.B.” lunch menu is available from 11 am to 5 pm at Landside, Ellenton, and Cortez locations only. Each quarter this year, each of our restaurants have been creating a menu which will run for 3 months at the 3 inland stores. This concoction of American favorites was Landside’s creation (even putting el gran jefe, John Horne’s face on

Amendment 2 Hurts You

A Message From John Horne Thank you for your interest in learning why I am urging you to vote NO on Amendment 2. It will harm many of the people that it was intended to help. We talk a lot about family at the Anna Maria Oyster Bars.  You hear us refer to our treasured staff as “the AMOB Family,” because my partners and I recognize that without the contributions of these hard-working, talented, caring individuals, our business would not exist. That’s why we paid every single one of our 325+ employees while we were closed for seven weeks during

Pineapple Paradise Motorworks Brewing

Welcome to Pineapple Paradise

After weeks of John teasing our newest collaboration with Motorworks Brewing… it’s finally time for our official debut! INTRODUCING… Hala 1493, an Anna Maria Oyster Bar original brewed in collaboration by Motorworks Brewing to honor the hospitality industry. When we decided to do a collaboration with Motorworks Brewing once again, this time, we wanted it to be extra special for our 25th anniversary on September 15th. We chose the flavor pineapple because the symbol for our beloved hospitality industry is a pineapple. Florida’s hospitality industry has been pulled in a million different directions over the past 5+ months… it’s time to
