An AMOB Oyster Week That Will Shuck Ya!

Anna Maria Oyster Bar Oysters

National Oyster Day is August 5th and who said celebrations had to be limited to just one day?! Let’s celebrate the AMOB way by sharing our love all week from Monday, August 2, through Sunday, August 8, 2021!

We can’t think of a better way to celebrate than enjoying them seven different ways! It’s time you enjoyed our Baker’s Dozen special – yes, that’s right – you’ll get 13 oysters for the price of 12, prepared just how you like:

  • Raw
  • Fried
  • Steamed
  • Garlic Parmesan
  • Grandma Georgie’s Chipotle
  • Oysters Rockefeller
  • Tequila Lime

At AMOB, we love supporting local businesses and our community, so we are so excited to be pairing up with local distillery Loaded Cannon and Motorworks Brewing for this year’s Oyster Week!

Start off this week with a kick with the Florida Viagra Oyster Shooter! Add Loaded Cannon’s Jalapeno Vodka to your drink and you will receive a free shot glass. This will be shaken & served tableside, so it’ll be a fun experience for the whole table.

We are also bringing back our famous Motorworks Brewing Irish-Style Oyster Stout. You will feel like you dove into the trenches of the ocean as this medium body stout dances across your tongue with a creamy mouthfeel. With these awesome dishes, drinks and more – Oyster Week at AMOB will be something you won’t want to miss!

We know you will crave something to pair with these drinks, but not to worry – there are even more ways to love oysters! Try our limited-time-only Oyster Nachos – served on a wonton crisp, topped with a lightly fried oyster, pico de gallo, a thin jalapeno slice and guacamole on the side. These nachos will create a flavor palette you will not forget! Or our Oyster Rockefeller Stew that combines that adds an AMOB twist to one of our most beloved dishes.

As we bring in and dispose of thousands of oysters, we want to also share the importance of the proper recycling procedures of oyster shells.

How to Recycle Oysters:

  1. Oysters are consumed at seafood restaurants and placed in the special bins provided by Waste Pro. The shells are picked up every week.
  2. The recycled shells are turned into “oyster modules” created for habitat restoration projects.
  3. The habitat begins forming as larval oysters settle on the shells, creating the next generation of harvestable oysters in 3-5 years.

We hope to see all your smiling faces this Oyster Week! Bring your friends, family, or just yourself – no one said you can’t be a little shellfish sometimes.
