The beloved local seafood institution will soon open its next location in The Square at UTC
Bradenton, FL – The rumors are true: the Anna Maria Oyster Bars are expanding!
Oysters Rock Hospitality announced today it plans to open the flagship brand’s fifth Bradenton area location at 5405 University Pkwy, Unit 110.
CEO John Horne shared, “We’re beyond excited for the opportunity to bring our unique brand of “Five Star Fun” to East County residents for the first time! What our longtime Anna Maria Oyster Bar fans love about us is the awesome experience, amazing people and hospitality, fantastic food – plus the best value in town, so that’s what guests should expect from our newest location as well.”
The new restaurant will retain most of the existing menu from the Landside, Cortez and Ellenton locations, with an energetic feel that reflects the modern Florida lifestyle: a celebration of Anna Maria Island as a world-renowned coastal destination.
Chief Operating Officer Chris Frawley said, “We’ve had our eye on the real estate market to the south and east of our existing restaurants for quite some time – even before I joined the AMOB Family last summer. With this location, I’m confident that we’ve found the perfect place to make a splash with our southernmost location, although perhaps not for long! Negotiations are underway for the sixth Anna Maria Oyster Bar location and we hope to announce the plans for a Sarasota County restaurant very soon.”
Located at the Square at UTC, the site was formerly occupied by Newk’s Eatery. Representatives of the Oyster Bars met with Newk’s staff to offer them an open invitation to join the AMOB team. Most of the staff plan to continue on with the Anna Maria Oyster Bars and will train at the Landside location before returning to open the University Town Center restaurant.
The permitting and buildout phase will soon commence, but as of print, the restaurant plans to open in late 2022 or early 2023.
