Small Business Person of the Year 2018 – Longboat Key Chamber of Commerce

SMALL BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR 2018 – LONGBOAT KEY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

We’re thrilled and humbled to share that at the Longboat Key Chamber of Commerce awards luncheon on Thursday, October 18, 2018, John Horne accepted the Small Businessperson of the Year award on behalf of Anna Maria Oyster Bar on the Pier.

The AMOB Family is especially proud of this recognition because of how hard we’ve worked over the past 3 years to ensure that the Pier is a fabulous place for both visitors and locals alike to share meals and memories with family and friends.

Of all our locations, AMOB on the Pier is especially appealing to young families and vacationers because of our value-forward offerings and its prime location on the Bridge Street Pier.  On Anna Maria Island, our “You’ll Feel Like Family!” advertisements as well as the “Penny an Inch” and “Stretch Your Budget” campaigns demonstrate the great deals available at the Pier.

Our Pier marketing strategies are aligned with those of our friends at the Longboat Key Chamber of Commerce, as well as  Visit Bradenton Gulf Islands, targeting geographically the Tampa Bay Area day-trippers, in-state long weekenders, as well as international travelers.  We also market based on geography in a very literal sense, by inviting our immediate neighbors for an annual “Welcome Back” breakfast, and encouraging locals to get to know our team in an effort to create a truly family-oriented atmosphere.

We would like express our sincere gratitude to the the Longboat Key Chamber of Commerce Small Business Council for this recognition, and to send our heartfelt congratulations to all of the winners and nominees.  Here are the other award winners in all categories:
