AMOB ON THE PIER FEATURED ON METRO

Metro, a news outlet based in the United Kingdom, recently featured Anna Maria Oyster Bar on the Pier in one of their articles. Metro is the largest free newspaper and third biggest newspaper in the United Kingdom. Dating back to 1999, Metro offers a variety of pieces and sections for its readers. This can take the form of the latest showbiz gossip, the funniest and oddest stories from around the world, and the best opinion pieces, without a party political standpoint to have to worry about.

Hattie Gladwell, a Lifestyle Writer for Metro, took a recent visit across the pond from the United Kingdom to Anna Maria Island. She visited popular tourist destinations in the area, including our very own Anna Maria Oyster Bar on the Pier! Here’s a preview of our section, check out the rest of her article to see the other local highlights featured from her trip!

“After the Segway tour, I tried a range of seafood at the Anna Maria Oyster Bar. Oysters, calamari and some amazing shrimp were washed down nicely with a Key Lime Colada.

Following lunch, the afternoon was all about relaxing, well, after exploring the Historic Bridge Street, that is. Bridge Street is Anna Maria’s hot spot. It’s on Bradenton Beach, the southernmost city of Anna Maria Island. Bridge Street was once the site of the original wooden bridge connecting the island to the mainland. A beautiful fishing pier is in its place today. There’s plenty to keep you occupied on the street, from food to shopping, and there are spectacular views from the pier and the gulf beach.”
