12 CHEERS FOR 20 YEARS: NOVEMBER RECAP

12 Cheers for 20 Years: November Recap

This November as part of our year-long 12 Cheers for 20 Years campaign, we’re supporting the Food Bank of Manatee. In addition to our month-long food drive AND the Birthday Cocktails program, we also contributed to the annual Empty Bowls event. Anna Maria Oyster Bar Landside donated a crock of our delicious New England Clam Chowder to *both* days of this fabulous fundraiser, where guests purchase a $25 ticket and can enjoy samples of delicious soups from area restaurants.  Plus, attendees select a special handcrafted ceramic or wooden bowl to take home, too! Also, a group of AMOB representatives attended

12 Cheers for 20 Years: October Recap

For the month of October, as part of our 12 Cheers for 20 Years Campaign, we raised money for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.  In total, Team “Shuck Cancer” raised $7,008… and had a great time doing it. To raise additional funds for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer beyond the monthly 12 Cheers Birthday Cocktail proceeds, our teams also sold pink “Shuck Cancer” t-shirts and buttons… at some of the stores, we also sold raffle tickets for great prizes! Pictured here is Vicki Giess who won $140 in a 50-50 raffle at our Cortez Oyster Bar.

12 cheers update – With your help, we raised $889 for Turning Points this month!  And many of you chose to contribute by supporting the supply drive, as well. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP! Happy birthday, Anna Maria Oyster Bars… Volume 9 Wow, we were incredibly lucky in Manatee County and at all of the AMOBs…during last week’s storm…we still have several of our staff members without power at their homes and we’re doing all we can to help…sending food home, sending ice bags home…anything we could do to support. All three of our stores on the mainland lost power…we

12 Cheers for 20 Years: July

Happy birthday, Anna Maria Oyster Bars… Volume 7 I sure do appreciate the job our military does for all of us and find it hard to imagine being away from family and friends being stationed in a far-away land defending my country. I know the work that Manatee Operation Troop Support (MOTS) does sending care packages to our enlisted men and women from our area with items to remind them of home and to let them know we’re all thinking of them…and thanking them and we appreciate them… that’s why this month our birthday celebration is honoring and helping

12 Cheers for 20 Years: April

I don’t know how many of you know this…but I was named an Official PACE Girl by the PACE Girls when they nominated the Oyster Bars for the Corporate Spirit Award at the Manatee Community Foundation’s Spirit of Manatee Awards. With their great nomination and even better introductory video at the luncheon we were honored to be named to receive that award. Click here to watch the video! That’s one reason that April is PACE Center For Girls Month as we continue our Year-Long 20th Birthday Celebration. We’re selling ducks in addition to Dos Equis and our Birthday Cocktail raising

12 CHEERS TO 20 YEARS: MARCH

12 Cheers to 20 Years: March

March is Women’s History Month and what better time to honor all of the STRONG women in my life…some for all of my life than this month. And also what better time to help our Corporate Partner the Women’s Resource Center than National Women’s History Month? So Cheers to AMOBs and Cheers to the Women’s Resource Center! I wrote a guest article for The Island Sun newspaper recently (check out this weeks edition!) about my start in institutional cooking with my Graddaddy Jake…but it was his daughter, my mom, that really taught me the love for cooking and entertaining. 12 CHEERS TO 20 YEARS: FEBRUARY

12 Cheers to 20 Years: February

I was cooking breakfast yesterday on the pier…as I try to do many Sunday mornings when I grabbed a spoon and dish and sampled/tested many items for consistency and quality control…that’s what some call it…I call it breakfast. I always taste when I’m in the restaurants…you can tell if the kitchen’s on pace by the soups and the sides…if they’re consistent and tasty, usually all the food will come out correct…unfortunately the item I test too often is the French fries…every time I walk thru the line…and they’re pretty darned consistent…but on Sundays on the pier, I try cheese grits,
