THE WINTER OLYMPICS AND YOUR FAVORITE SEAFOOD

The Winter Olympics and Your Favorite Seafood

We are so proud of one of very own, Josh Santillan. If you’re an AMOB regular, you might know Josh from our Ellenton location where he works full-time. He leads a pretty busy life taking online college courses and working full-time, but he also trains full-time as a competitive figure skater! Training at the Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex, across the highway from our Ellenton location, Josh and his team mate Jessica Pfund have been training for US Nationals. They’ve had intense training, too. Being at the ice rink from 8:30am to 3:30pm, their training also includes ballet twice a

The festival brings together over 50 local and diverse food and wine vendors from the Sarasota-Manatee Originals, including Anna Maria Oyster Bar. The Sarasota-Manatee Originals is a group of locally owned restaurants who share a passion for dining excellence and commitment to our community. The festival weekend is filled with tastings and seminars, but the highlight is definitely the

A VISIT FROM OUR FRIENDS AT THE PINES

A visit from our friends at The Pines

It’s that time of the year where our northern “snowbird” friends come back down south to visit this beautiful slice of paradise. We love our northern friends, and what better way to show some appreciation than with some award-winning food and drinks? Although it’s been a chillier season, we wanted to give them a warm welcome back. So, we threw a “Welcome Back Snowbirds” cocktail party at AMOB on the Pier for our next door neighbors, The Pines Trailer Park. A fun time was shared by The Pines residents while they enjoyed fresh food and cocktails while overlooking the gorgeous

A SPECIAL HOLIDAY DINNER FOR THE “DIVE INTO READING” PARTICIPANTS

A special holiday dinner for the “Dive into Reading” participants

Each year, we try to recognize a special group or organization for our annual holiday dinner party. This Christmas, we wanted to invite the students, their families, and volunteer mentors from our first ever “Dive into Reading” Summer Reading Program. The program focused on improving the reading levels of rising 3rd graders and to prevent a concept called the “Summer Slide”, where students that stop learning over summer break have a hard time catching back up. You can read more about the details of the Dive Into Reading program here. The program turned out to be a huge success for

A GREAT TIME WAS HAD AT THE ANNUAL STAFF HOLIDAY PARTIES

A Great Time Was Had at the Annual Staff Holiday Parties

It was a great time at the annual Staff Party, getting all the O-Bar teams together to celebrate the holiday season. The party was held at Motorworks Brewing, which has Florida’s largest Beer Garden. The place was decked with fun games like cornhole, bocce ball, and of course GIANT Jenga and Connect Four… and best of all, a good selection of food and drinks! The Spot Taco & Catering cooked up fresh made-to-order tacos. Even Santa showed up to make a special appearance. Needless to say, a good time was had by all! Click image to view more of Staff

WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA – CEREMONY

Wreaths Across America – Ceremony

We’re so happy to report that through your generosity for the Wreaths Across America campaign, every gravesite had a holiday wreath laid today.   Thank you for helping us honor & remember our nation’s veterans, and not just during the holiday season, but all year long.  Many in our community came together to support this wonderful mission, including our friend Maverick from the Denis V. Cooper Foundation and 92.1 CTQ. John & Amanda attended a lovely Wreath Laying Ceremony today where hundreds gathered to lay about 12,000 wreaths at Sarasota National Cemetery.  Truly a moving experience for us, and a beautiful site. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MAMA & PAPA HORNE!

Happy Anniversary to Mama & Papa Horne!

Ann & Lynn Horne of Anna Maria celebrate 60 years of marriage on Thursday, November 16, 2017. Ann & Lynn were married on Saturday, November 16th, 1957 at the First BaptistChurch in Bartow, FL and enjoyed a one-day honeymoon in Orlando. They lived and raised their two boys, Lynn, Jr.  & John in Bartow, although Ann’s hair did turn white after the birth of her second son… probably knowing the shenanigans they would get up to! Ann would visit Anna Maria as a young girl and her dream was to have a beach house and she realized this dream in

THE HANGOVER RECIPE AND LYNN & ANN’S 60TH ANNIVERSARY

The Hangover Recipe and Lynn & Ann’s 60th Anniversary

This article originally appeared in the Island Sun As I’ve written before…we’re all about food in our family…whether it’s cooking, eating, growing, buying, ordering or sitting around a table after a HUGE meal…our family is all about food…and wine! And we have been as long as I can remember. Some of my fondest memories came around our small dining table where we ate growing up. We had 2 meals every day at that table. Breakfast and dinner were always shared by the four of us around that table. After breakfast we passed the four sections of the Tampa Tribune around
