I sure do appreciate the job our military does for all of us and find it hard to imagine being away from family and friends being stationed in a far-away land defending my country. I know the work that Manatee Operation Troop Support (MOTS) does sending care packages to our enlisted men and women from our area with items to remind them of home and to let them know we’re all thinking of them…and thanking them and we appreciate them… that’s why this month our birthday celebration is honoring and helping raise money for postage to send more care packages to our Vets.
Linda Craig and her gang work tirelessly putting the packages together and sending them across the globe. It costs $17.35 just to MAIL one care package to our troops… that sure adds up in a hurry! So we appreciate all the support in helping MOTS raise this money to keep sending little reminders of home to our local troops that are deployed.
Thanks for what you do for our troops, Linda and MOTS… and many thanks to all of our guests who are also helping support MOTS.
Keep up the good work, MOTS! 🎉
We’re helping raise money and awareness of Maverick’s Foundation to help more veterans in our community…and THNX so much for all you do Mav!
Make sure you come in and have a Birthday Cake cocktail or a pint of Dos Equis… June proceeds will go to the Denis V Cooper Foundation. All month long, a portion of proceeds are donated and tomorrow, June 20, the entire amount.
Come join the PARTY!
Our crew is working hard to prepare for an AWESOME first-ever Summer Fest at Landside. We’re hoping for *no rain* (though we do have a backup plan!) but GREAT FOOD & FUN is definitely in the forecast!
Celebrate with us in the Backyard at Anna Maria Oyster Bar Landside on Saturday, June 24 where the fun begins at 4pm. Enjoy AMOB favorites like fish tacos, Grandma Georgie’s Chipotle Oysters, delicious burgers, signature margaritas, Pier Beer and more served in a street fair atmosphere.
Bring the whole family for live music from local crooners Trevor Bystrom (4:30-7pm) and Jeremy Demers (7:30-10pm) presented by Independent Jones; fun outdoor games; arts & crafts vendors including Brushes & Bouquets by Mike Parrott and a gyotaku (Japanese fish printing) demonstration; an interactive children’s activity from environmental education organization, Nature’s Academy… and more!
Our community’s need for blood donations is always high, so a few times a year, we invite local blood banks to host drives at our Oyster Bars.
On Saturday, July 1, from 11am-7pm at all four locations, we’ll trade you FREE LUNCH in exchange for your blood donation! The Suncoast Blood Bank will give you a spiffy t-shirt, too. THNX for helping save lives!
Thanks again, folks, for tuning in to our “12 Cheers for 20 Years” newsletter… look out for more news & updates from the Anna Maria Oyster Bars soon!
and as always, Stay Thirsty My Friends…
