Here at Anna Maria Oyster Bar, it’s a family affair!
Whether our crew is related by blood or by sweat, what makes our restaurants truly great are the folks who keep them running smoothly. From sweeping the floors to shucking oysters, every job is important and helps ensure that our guests have an awesome, FUN experience…. and come back for more!
Speaking of fun, our goal is for our guests to have fun… and for that to happen, our crew has to have fun. We try to create a fun atmosphere at all of our locations… you can always tell if a restaurant staff enjoys where they work. If they’re having fun, it’s gonna be fun for the guests as well.
And as Jimmy Buffett says (and painted on walls at two of our locations), “Be Yourself, Be Pleasant, Play Hard and Have No Regrets.” Click here for an application to join the family!
Below, meet some of the people who lead the Anna Maria Oyster Bar management team.
Gary Harkness left Northern Ireland for Bradenton in 1980 where he was a rear gunner on a milk float in Belfast. He writes, “It was a great move and I found paradise! No more cold rainy days for me.” Gary hooked up with John Horne at a joint on Anna Maria Island called Fast Eddie’s, and has been in the restaurant business ever since because he loves the people he meets. Gary has one 28-year-old daughter in Wisconsin, with whom he’s planning a trip to go back home to Ireland to visit his 83-year-old mother. Gary also loves golf…. and telling lies!!!!!
