FROM TX TO FL, LOYAL GUESTS SHOW LOVE TO AMOB

From TX to FL, Loyal Guests Show Love to AMOB

A lovely story shared by long-time AMOB regulars who moved to Austin, Texas, and were unable to make their annual trip to Bradenton, FL. Check out their photos in the gallery below! Hello, I am writing from Austin, TX where we moved from Lakeland FL in 1977. We had lived there for 7 years; we visited Longboat and AMI beaches frequently. I didn’t want to leave Florida, but we promised each other we would come back every summer and we have kept that promise for almost all of those years. Our two girls are grown up now, and one has

BRADENTON CHRISTIAN’S LOCAL GOVERNMENT DAY ON BRADENTON BEACH

Bradenton Christian’s Local Government Day on Bradenton Beach

A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of hosting a class of third graders from Bradenton Christian School who were visiting Bradenton Beach to learn first-hand how local government works.  We were thrilled to provide lunch for these adorable future leaders of Manatee County after their exciting day visiting City Hall. They also had some other unique Bradenton Beach experiences like putt-putt at the Fish Hole, sailing on the beach with Commissioner Ralph Cole, a tour of the bakery at our friends the Beach House, and more!  So many people came together to create this wonderful day for these

BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS BREAKFAST

Big Brothers Big Sisters Breakfast

We were so happy to have the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America at our Landside location on August 26! This event had us reminiscing on Dive into Reading this past June, when elementary aged students and volunteers mentors joined us for a one-of-a-kind dining experience.  Last week, we had about 15 kids, along with around 12 volunteers and staff join us in the morning for a special breakfast with reading time. Big Brothers Big Sisters of America is an invaluable asset for the youth in our community and we are so happy they came to visit us for breakfast!

Mackay’s Family Reunion at the O-Bars

We’re ALL about family at the Oyster Bars —  whether it’s our crew (related by blood….or sweat) or the guests, both make this place so special. We’re always dedicated to bringing great value in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. So, when our friends, the Mackay’s, came to visit us during their annual family reunion we were happy to see them. The Mackay’s hail from across the country from Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Colorado and California — and join together each year to visit the Manatee County area. The Mackay crew arrived at our Cortez location sporting custom shirts that said, “It’s

A VISIT FROM OUR FRIENDS AT THE PINES

A visit from our friends at The Pines

It’s that time of the year where our northern “snowbird” friends come back down south to visit this beautiful slice of paradise. We love our northern friends, and what better way to show some appreciation than with some award-winning food and drinks? Although it’s been a chillier season, we wanted to give them a warm welcome back. So, we threw a “Welcome Back Snowbirds” cocktail party at AMOB on the Pier for our next door neighbors, The Pines Trailer Park. A fun time was shared by The Pines residents while they enjoyed fresh food and cocktails while overlooking the gorgeous

Historic Bridge Street Welcomes the Budweiser Clydesdales

On Saturday, October 14, the Bridge Street Merchants were pleased to welcome the Budweiser Clydesdales, who clip-clopped their way down Bridge Street that evening from 5-7pm.  At Anna Maria Oyster Bar on the Pier, we marked the special occasion with $1.50 Budweiser draft beers… what else? According to the Bradenton Herald, the Clydesdales’ appearance is part of the celebration for Gold Coast Eagle Distributing, which will receive the Ambassador of Excellence and the Big Jake awards.  There are only 23 other Anheuser-Busch distributors in the country with the accomplishment.

Postcards from the Pier: Floating Tiki Bar

I’ll take “Places I Wish I Was” for $500, Alex. These folks cruised on by the Historic Bridge Street Pier on Bradenton Beach, FL on their tiki bar boat… and we were instantly jealous. Happy Labor Day Weekend, folks!

PALMETTO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL VISITS AMOB

Palmetto Elementary School Visits AMOB

We were so pleased to host a group of children from Palmetto Elementary School on Friday, April 28, 2017. The students who attended were the top 3 “donations collectors” for our Walk-a-Thon and the Top Class by percentage. We had 2 additional treats to our lunch: John and Amanda from the AMOB gave each student a book congratulating them on their PAW PRIDE!   The students eagerly started reading the books the minute they were in their hands. Also, Manatee County School District Superintendent Dr. Diana Greene was having a business lunch at the AMOB, and stopped by to congratulate
